Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS)

About:

Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) promotes sustained access to digital research data. For this purpose, DANS encourages researchers to archive and reuse data in a sustained manner, e.g. through the online archiving system EASY.

EASY is the DANS online archiving system, offering access to thousands of datasets in the humanities, the social sciences and other disciplines. EASY can also be used for the online depositing of data of completed research. To the EASY repository-system the Data Seal of Approval – giving an indication of quality, preservation and accessibility of data  - has been granted.

Apart from the EASY system, DANS maintains Dutch Dataverse Network (DDN).  DDN has been created to support researchers from Dutch universities and other scientific organisations. Using DDN, they may store their digital data in a secure and sustainable way during the active phase of their research.

DANS is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
