About:
The National Archives has a range of different data sources and are keen to support initiatives that can broaden access to our data. We would be happy to discuss any project further.
Much of the National Archives digitised material is available via its catalogue, but discussion will be required to allow for in depth analysis. It may be preferable for scholars to work with specific collections, that have full catalogue entries or text that is searchable via OCR. This could include
- One million probate copies of wills from the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 1384-1858, accessible Documents Online's own search engine http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/wills.asp
- MH12: Southwell Union Workhouse Correspondence 1834-1871, 11 volumes, fully catalogued, accessible both via our own electronic catalogue, or via the Documents Online search engine http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/workhouse.asp
- 500,000 Cabinet Office papers 1915-1977: full text searchable via OCR, http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/cabinetpapers/
